Oh God!! Its a girl

I read a article in the news paper recently.. I Also saw an ad in the TV one day on the same topic.I was hurt when i realised that even today there are people in my country who consider the birth of a girl child in the family a burden, a liability.

A mother's womb is one of the safest places designed by the nature.But today it is not.Technology is so advanced today,that we have means of knowing if the child is a girl or a boy before birth. People spend thousands just to know this. The sad part is they throw in more cash,just to get the child aborted 'if its a girl'.

Indian culture has gone through many changes since centuries.Many practises (like sati system,child marriage) have been eliminated. But why is it that such a practise still prevails in our society. Why can't the authorities take some action against this crime.Something has to be done to stop this.

You guys have know idea wat i learnt in this one weeks time.. " I LEARNT HOW TO RESPECT WATER"

You must be thinking wat i am talkng about right!! Lemme explain.
There was a problem in my hostel.. (which still prevails) WATER SHORTAGE. How? well its not because its summer!! its because of the contamination of the pond from where our supply came(or so they say).

Anyways we dont have any means of water in hostel now other than what a truck gets us in the morning. As this water is being distributed to various blocks in the college, we get a little amount of it, which gets over within an hour after the working hours of college. END RESULT: we dont have water for anything.

What did we do? Wat else could we do, but, store as much of it as possible. How much? One bucket. Friends!! i learnt how to use one bucket of water for all my needs. So did the rest of the girls living in my hostel. Now i know the value of each drop. Its true- thru experience we learn. Today i feel that i can live in any adverse conditions.
Messsage to my readers:

• Respect every drop of water you get. Summer is starting.There will water shortage across the nation. We better save it now. I am teeling you one bucket of water is not enough for a whole day.

GOT PLACED!!!!!

I think after my previous post all u guys, deserve to know what happened with me.
I got placed. Where??

He he, my aptitude was tough. I dint expect to get through. But i was lucky. The HR interview was just as cool as talking to a friend. All they look for is your communication skill..

I am very happy guys. Its like a huge burden gone. Now i am back to my normal life with minimal amount of frustration. :)

Its all about getting placed...

Hi guys. I thought i'll write something thats keeping me frustrated almost everyday.. no every hour.. or rather every second. Well you will say i am getting tensed for no reason. But wen the air that surrounds is filled with it, how can one stay calm.

I wanna talk about placements. S6 is an important year for all engineering students? why? They gotta get placed rite. Thats why. I am in S6, and i am going through it now. I am not worried about if i'll get placed or not( some day i will).. but then i am going crazy seeing my friends walking around with shakunthala devi , R S Agarwal and many other books.

We are all under stress.. academics, projects, arts and sports, placements.. i am having tough time managing all these things together. But its ok. I'll take things as they come.

Thanks to a training program that my college arranged for us. They did boost up some confidence level in me. Know wat they said? They told us that "its not u who is looking up at companies to give u job.. but its companies that want u to work for them" Well isn't it true?

I think so.

So guys.. all those of u who are in my state... Don't worry. Stay cool and let companies come looking for u. All u need to be is "Be URSELF". Good luck guys.

And for all those who are not in my state.. pray for us...

The Six and The Sleeping Beauty

Well!!! today's my post is about 6 gals and their surrounding. Gosh so such trouble they've already been in.. because.. they laugh and speak at the top of their voice.. Ummmm especially during the silence hours of the night.(he he he) This story also includes a sleeping beauty who gets very very disturbed even by the lights (at least a mile away from their room) while sleeping.

Now here's the story...

After the long tiring and boring class hours of the day "The Six" come back to the hostel. They sit down and share whatever happened in their class, immitate people (their teachers, themselves), usually have a dance party with loud music in their room, complain about the food cooked with worms in it... etc etc..

But somehow when its time for the rest of the world to sleep they feel wide awake. Not purposely.. but may be their friendship is too deep that they end in some room and start off the usual girlish chattering. Only defect or may be its good in someway they are all too loud. Unfortunately there are couple of sleeping beauties in the hostel who doze off say by about 9pm. I can't blame them. After all they also have loads of work in college like teaching naughty guys and gals like "The Six".

One night The Six decide to fool one of the naughtiest of the lot.The plan was working out simply superb. she din't understand that her friends were playing a prank on her. And finally when she understood.. the bursted of laughing loudly.. Well... it indeed was too loud. But they couldn't help it. And you can guess what happend next. Sleeping beauty was awakend. She came charging out her room. Yelling out the names of the notorious criminals who disturd her sleep.

Her shouting and screaming went on for a few minutes. Luckily for them no action was taken.

To this day.. there has been no change in the routine of "the Six". I don't think they'll change. Its not possible to change. Only effort they should put in is try and control their volume.. especially in the night. I don't see much of a problem in them. Everybody forgets all worries in a group which is so enthusiastic. Everybody forgets every tensions when they laugh. Everybody feels happy with the people they like most. Isn't?

There is always two sides of a coin:

In this situation, one side is: DON'T DISTURB OTHERS,HOW MUCH EVER YOU ARE HAPPY. Keep the level of decency,respect everybodies feelings (especially while they are sleeping :) ) and not to offend them wherever you are and whenever it is.

The second one is: enjoy everymoment of the life. If you feel like laughing: laugh.If you feel like crying : cry. Don't ever keep the feeling hidden within you. Just Don't care what others might think or do. Be BINDAAZZ..

Are we the best in the world?

So much drama happens in and around us, daily.
And thats exactly the case in the world..There is the stinking polictics on one side and the world of glamour, fashion and hot juicy stories of the celebreties from all over on the other.

Well i am sure all must have heard wat she had to go through in the house. My blog is about that today..

Don't we all face it in some way or the other everyday.. catogarizing people on the basis of their color.. I am not telling that we are doing it.. but alteast we hear of it rite.. I know we are all against it.. but has a word been spoken out against it openly ever? What has been done to stop it? Nothing.. Well we call ourselves educated,civillized.. I don't think present system of education has done any good.Shilpa shetty is the proof.

People of the world are still ignorant about the fact thats there is something better than glamour and style and skin color.. The fact that we are humans after all.We all go through the same kind of emotions and feelings. We are still to learn how to love people (yes!! including me).

What i have to say today is that guys.. we are all on the same boat.. We study, become something in life. work, enjoy etc.. its all for survival rite.. then why should we treat few so badly just because they are a little less glamourous than us. What i have learnt from this incident!!
Try and treat everyone equal.. U never know tomoro he whom u thought wes not ur level.. might save your life. Common after all we humans are the best!!!

He's been there for me.... always

Hi guys..

This is my very first blog. Hence i have decided to give it a very auspicious start.

Thats my bhagavan Hanuman.. and i want all of you to know how important he is to me.

I became his devotee since my S3.. the story goes like this.....

As usual i would go home (at that time, my aunts place as my parents where out of station) during weekend.Its a Konkani colony near Fort Kochi.. with a verrry bigggg temple.

That week was very special... there was festival going in. And so it was like a mela there. That evening my granny, my cousin and myself went to the telmple. Now, my grandma is very religious. While she was to buying some book (ya rite some religious book) me and my cousin were looking at the different pics of all the hindu gods one guy was selling. Thats wen i felt it.

I saw hanumanji smiling at me...well... it was just a photo.. but to me it was different. There was something about it.. It was alive i felt. The very moment i saw 'Hanuman Chalisa'... with the guy. Its a book with 40 verses praising my dearest lord... and i bought it.

Ammomma said"sweta, why dont you sing the hanuman chalisa now..... in the tune that sanskar

channelwalle sing it..."

I said,'' ok i'll give it a try''.

Now even though i didnt remeber the tune properly i sang the 40 verses.. to my own surprise, i i enjoyed it so much that i wanted to sing it again and again and again..Which i did, after reaching home. Since that day many wonderful things have happened to me. All good things.I shall not tell you wat... because those are my "chote chote" secrets.

He has been there for me whenever i was having a hard time.. He is there with me even now watching over me.. protecting me.. from all bad things in life.. and whenever i tend to forget him.. not purposely... (common yaar forgive me.. its in human nature) he has reminded me of his existence.

So now i know for sure that god exists.. watever form he is in.. he's there for all of us.. This is one imoprtant think that i learnt in life. I realised that there is nothing more significant that him. So guys atleast once a day take 5 minutes off ur busy schedule and thank him for everything he's given us.
